No Me Digas

My apologies for the lack in posts this past week, I was just too busy out having fun, to be honest. Today is my last day in Barcelona and I can't believe it. For a long time early in my stay here I was not sure if I had made the right choice in studying abroad, but slowly this city grew on me while my love for my home began to fade to the background for a while. The weather here is finally, mercifully beautiful, and after months of rain and cold Barcelona now seems like paradise. I spent the past week drinking cava on the beach, spending time with the dear friends I've made here, sleeping on park benches and lifeguard chairs, and watching the sunrise. Maybe this is what people rave about when they talk about semesters abroad? I am so excited to go back to the states and see the mama and my friends, but I'm surprised to find that I am mourning the loss of a part of me. I may have resisted for quite some time, but at long last I can finally say that Barcelona, I love you.

Lookin Good.

This may be the perfect spring outfit.

(via lookbook)

Give to me the sweet life

of summers and stories told.

Bring to me the Tension

of a love unsure and bold.

Give to me the mercy mild

and the way to my redemption

For in the dark I’ve asked for things

too terrible to mention

Looking Back.

Listen! I will be honest with you;
I do not offer the old smooth prizes, but offer rough new prizes;
These are the days that must happen to you:

You shall not heap up what is call’d riches,
You shall scatter with lavish hand all that you earn or achieve,
You but arrive at the city to which you were destin’d—you hardly settle yourself to satisfaction, before you are call’d by an irresistible call to depart,
You shall be treated to the ironical smiles and mockings of those who remain behind you;
What beckonings of love you receive, you shall only answer with passionate kisses of parting,
You shall not allow the hold of those who spread their reach’d hands toward you.

Pony Pony Run Run.

Teamwork.

So there's this blog run by two ladies called T. Ruffle Girls where one takes a photo and the other writes a caption. It's pretty awesome.

Volcano Got Me Stressin.

I mean I'm not leaving until next Thursday, but this whole ash cloud over the whole of Europe thing is a tad disconcerting.

Take Away Show- Phoenix

I wish I could go to Paris. I also wish I had a HD camera. I'm gonna make a list.

Buenas Noches.

Just got back from a Barca game and it was amazing. I have to get up for class in 3 hours. no bueno. I was bored and made a formspring if you are interested.

Goodnight.

Ohhhhhh Dad.

Just enjoying the first piece of mail I've gotten in Spain.

More Than All the Stars.

Some rather endearing wall decals by Shanna Murray. I'm in love.

Rain, Rain, Kiss me Arse

For a few glorious days here in Spain this past weekend it was warm and sunny and beautiful and I was happy. Alas, Barcelona is back to being a cold and rainy puta, while my peeps back in Boston are sunbathing. I wouldn't mind it so much if I had this sweater by Sirena Con Jersey to snuggle up in.

In My Craft or Sullen Art

...Not for the proud man apart
From the raging Moon I write
On these spindrift pages
Nor the towering dead
With their nightingales and psalms
But for the lovers, their arms
Round the grief of the ages
Who pay no praise or wages
Nor heed my craft or art

Outstanding in the Field

"Outstanding in the Field is a roving culinary adventure – literally a restaurant without walls. Since 1999 we have set the long table at farms or gardens, on mountain tops or in sea caves, on islands or at ranches. Occasionally the table is set indoors: a beautiful refurbished barn, a cool greenhouse or a stately museum. Wherever the location, the consistent theme of each dinner is to honor the people whose good work brings nourishment to the table."

I love this idea so much. Since I can't afford the $180 ticket to one of these events, I think this summer I'm gonna host my own. There really is nothing better than eating fresh food (and drinking wine) out in the warm summer air with friends.

His Final Bow.

"Mr. McQueen’s soul was as a deep and powerful as an ocean but his reserves of happiness were always drying up."

Felices Pascuas

It doesn't really feel like Easter without baskets and eggs and fake grass and chocolate bunnies and ham and mass and peeps and family.

Drops in the River.

I just posted a video, but ehhhhh fuck it. I've had a bit of sangria tonight and I want to share one of my favorite songs of all time. OF ALL TIME.

Most important criteria for me to like a song: it has to have a sense of yearning.

And the Boys.

While I must admit I dont really like the video (although the landscape shots are nice), this song has been on repeat in my mind for the past couple of days. If you're not familiar, Angus and Julia Stone are a brother-sister act out of Australia with a sweet, laid-back sound. Plus, the cover of their latest album is pretty rad:

Jokes.
