Oh Hai

Hey kids, sorry its been a while. After the Bon Iver show (which was pretty fricken AWESOME) my brain kinda just went into auto pilot and I haven't accomplished anything since. Above is a picture of me in a couple of hours when I am done with my last assignment of sophomore year. Soon I'm going to be an upper-classman in college. Weeeeeeeeeiiiird. Hopefully this week I'll get my act together and get back to posting regularly, because I know how much you guys really really depend on me. Until then, wish me luck, I'm gonna need it.

p.s. im gonna try and post the videos I took at the concert later too- they're pretty sweet

When My Time Comes

Get thyself to Daytrotter (best. website. ever.) and download the recent session by a band called Dawes. Shit's awesome and I must say making me enjoy my midnight study break thoroughly. One anthro paper down, one bajillion to go! Yay college!

Nature Paintings

While taking a quick study break I came across a series of works called "Nature Paintings" by Keith Tyson, and they literally made my jaw drop. On his site the series is described as follows:
"The support surface for each Nature Painting is an acid primed aluminum panel or mirror. Onto this a variety of paints, pigments and other substances are poured and allowed to interact in a number of specified ways. The title Nature Paintings refers not to the subject matter of the works, but to the manner in which they are made. As Tyson points out, the significant aspect of the series is not that they are paintings of nature, but that they are paintings by nature"
